PanDEMoniUm

These non-narrative, non linear scenes are populated with people (peeps) and animal type characters. I revisit an earlier charter concept I created called Pukie Pooh, a human animal hybrid. “He” goes by the pronoun “she” who has recently emerged as a panda bear. She challenges the hierarchical systems in place: patriarchy, social norms and seeks to upend them. In the artwork I also make references to formal art techniques, abstract expressionism and the mission school.

Using these as a springboard I find complete freedom in chosen art materials of charcoal or ink and glitter with color in a playful way that eludes to a prolific mix of ephemeral, absurd and profane. The experience is immediate and unforgiving kind of like we cant go back and erase what we did so the first thought is the best thought, we have to really accept the lunacy of expectations.
