Doors

Doors: Something that can be opened physically or mentally, a port hole to awaken see change spiritual awakening. This body of work about a time in my life when I was blocked. I felt like I was making a lot of  work that had no purpose and little meaning. I felt it was time to realize this and own it. I took apart my drawings, tearing them up and it was freeing, and let go of notions I had about how they should look without imposing a structure on them. Creatively, I took bits of the fragments of torn drawings and added them  to make a new drawing that literally resembled a door which literally was simple and freeing for me being it is something that I know and can visualize. This work is hopeful and curious.
